General Question About Selling a Tool With Many Accessories

Two or three years ago I bought a new but open box router from a guy that found many tools at an estate sale. It's an OF 1400 EQ-Plus USA. I used it less than a handful of times but guess I'm just old and don't like the handle design so want to sell it. Problem is I put it on FB and the router new goes for about $800 but the accessories close to $400 new (UP-OF, SF-OF,LAS-OF 1400, LA-OF 1400, and SA-OF 1400 - doesn't even look like the accessories were used). No bites even at 65% of retail without considering tax. I'd like to get rid of it all at once but would it be best to sell the router by itself? - Thanks
 
I find people have difficulty getting to the additional value of accessories.

Their mind (and mine) is lazy. We don’t wanna do the additional math for the accessories.

We fully acknowledge the perceived value deal of Tool + Accessories. Yet we hold back due to our inability to do the value mathematics.

It is quite an interesting conundrum for both buyer and seller. I’ve not yet solved it for either one.

My suggestion is to sell them separately. When you get a serious buyer for a Tool, then hit them with a bundle proposition. “For another $200, I will throw in all these accessories.” Make that offer in person, if you can.
 
65% of retail is a normal going rate for used Festools but with the accessories you'd likely be way over that and not necessarily on peoples radar.
I'd list the machine itself at 65% and then in the ad list all the extra equipment at its current retail price and state something to the effect that for $xxx USD extra you'll include it in the sale.
 
I agree that it would probably be easier to sell the machine separately and then the accessories. I imagine that all to often the expectation is that the accessories are to be discounted hugely when included in a package.
