Yesterday I came across „ Makstak (Makstack) Systemkoffer“ on eBay. I have never seen one of these before. It looks exactly like a classic systainer, just with some facelift.  I wouldn't be surprised if it was systainer-compatible.  I tried to do more search but no results. There is nothing on Makita's site. Any idea what exactly this is and where it comes from?[attachimg=#]

I have seen other similar systems but not one that is that close a copy.

Maybe the classic systainer patent ran out? I don't see why makita would have got this made under license while the T-loc is there.
The facelift is nice though.

Not a copy, that would be a real Tanos Systainer manufactured for Makita.

The Systainers come from Tanos, not Festool. Tanos supplies lots of companies such as Makita, Mirka, Dewalt, etc. Many tools come in Systainers in Europe but just a few in the US. The only Makita tool supplied in a Systainer in the US is the Tracksaw as far as I know.

The other similar tool box manufacturer is Sortimo. These are sold in the US by Bosch and called an L-Boxx. Sortimo also makes a line of very heavy duty box systems made from steel. Bosch is selling a few tools in the US in L-Boxxs.

Well, that is interesting.

The Makita, Mirka, Dewalt, etc. tools that I have seen in person were all clearly in a Tanos Systainer even if they were made for that company in custom colors.

The original example and the one provided by festoolviking seem to be compatable but NOT the same. It would be interesting to know if these are manufactured by Tanos, made under license, or copies.

Yeah, that one posted by Mat'o is not the same as a Tanos Sys. Neither is that one shown by festoolviking. Looks like Makita has / had several variations made for them by several makers. I have a Makita Sys that is from Tanos, and except for the color is exactly like a regular Tanos  Sys.

Here is a DeWalt

And A Bosch  ... I added an additional label to the front of the Bosch but the one on top is original.

Tanos also makes them under license, the systainer design belongs to TTS.
Even the Sortimo L-boxx is marked "under license by TTS"
So it's not impossible that a third company makes them?

This is MAK-STACK size II. German site on which I found it states it's original Makita, compatible with all Classic Systainers and T-Locs.

Fake Systainers with metal clips have been discussed here before. Someone noted the side clips are redundant, just to make it look like a real Systainer.  These cases don't interlock, just stack.

Here is a picture I've found with double clips and bottom hooks which apparently is an interlockable version of the same case.

Looks like Makita has gone through a lot of variations, since some don't even latch together and there may be other compatibility issues  ??? .... I think they should just stick with real Systainers  ::)
