Get a laugh - I am glad last names are optional.

So sorry Tinker.  Just chalk it up to the fact that I am blonde.  ::) ::)

The problem is, there's no government program to teach the deer how to read signs and look both ways before crossing a busy highway.  It doesn't matter how much that would cost, if we can save just one deer....

There MUST be a government program to deal with this travesty of the animal kingdom, it is probably just woefully underfunded...  [blink]

Put a tree stand by the road…that will keep em away  [eek]

I doubt if just one (1) tree stand would do it -- the better solution would be to line the roads with tree stands & leave just a short space in those places it is safe for the deer to cross.  Now there is seed for a great new government program -- jobs, jobs, jobs...  [tongue]

Now the radio station is claiming they had a follow-up conversation with "Donna". What is a little telltale that this is staged is that even though she was never identified by more than her first name, she is claiming that people are calling and emailing her, and even stopping by her house about the first call. There's 200,000 people in Fargo/Moorhead, but they miraculously identify her by her first name only? It sounds like a well run marketing scheme.  [unsure]

I'm still in the "it was staged" camp however what could be true is that Donna bragged to her friends & co-workers about starting a radio campaign to get the deer crossings stopped -- I could see her name / contact info spreading like wildfire with people wanting to see just how far off of the planet her head really is.  [blink]  She would have to be a fascinating individual to hear on other perspectives also...  [eek]

it probably is staged but you can never underestimate peoples stupidity. but what are they trying to market. the only thing i can think of is the radio staion or dear crossing  signs.
she could have been recognised  from that first call. i rang my local hardware (one i rarely use ) and the rep called me by name  and i rang off a someone elses phone.
it would only take one or two to recognise her and tell everyone

Listen carefully at 1:18 or so, the supposed dimwit caller has a slight difficulty keeping a straight voice.  It's totally staged.

Think about.  If she really thought like that, she would have died years ago having swerved off the road misreading the signage that has the depiction of the ziz-zag lines of a car swerving thinking it was telling her to do the same and not as an advisory of slippery when wet conditions.  [scared]

Aww, it's much more fun to believe she really had no clue... Spoilsport.  [big grin]
