Hello all.
I and my family will be in Ireland for a week this summer. Anyone want to recommend a place to visit that would be of interest to woodworking fans. Going to be in Dublin and area probably the most.

Thanks
BW

Take plenty of money. Dublin’s crazy-expensive - especially around the Temple Bar area.

Laethanta saoire sona !!

Go to Trinity college for architecture.  If I remember correctly, the library was used in one of the Harry Potter movies.

We visited a museum in Dublin.where they had the peat bog men. I found that very interesting.

Read some history to understand the country.    Know what "beyond the pail" means, and why Ireland stayed neutral during WWII.  If your last name is Cromwell, change it before going to Ireland.  It is a very beautiful country that is probably the size of the state of Indiana.

I think the spelling of the term is "beyond the pale" (pale refers to "palisade").
You should take a listen to the podcasts by David Crowther, The History of England. Gobsmackingly fantastic amounts of information.

Friday night Guinness in England, just across the water from the Emerald Isle.

Sláinte !! (Pronounce it ‘slawnchee’)

I’d also add that any trip to Ireland (from anyone, anywhere in the world) will make SO much more sense when you’ve watched (and truly understood) all three seasons of ‘Father Ted’. Search it out, enjoy it, and thank me later.
