Maybe the real lesson to be learned here is not to rush to repeat stories when unaware of the origin or any other facts.

It's in bad taste to quote any political statements on a forum dedicated to tools (there are more suitable places to do it).

To quote a blog with a heading implying a direct personal email message was the source is clearly irresponsible.

I'm not sure that is the same e-mail I got but it did concern me that this could happen. Having close friends in the military, this was cause for concern. I have a great respect for our soldiers so I hope our future president has the same, no matter who it is. If this were about McCain I would feel the same way. This wasn't about the name, it was about respect. There are different offerings by both candidates that will create "change" one way or another. If anything, this has been an interesting campaign for both parties.

  Woodenfish has my point.  It appears that most of our free press is more interested Barry Obama's ordination than giving something as simple as the whole truth.  I can not think of any other institution protected by the constitution and this is the product we receive in return.  What Stalin stated about a lie was not a warning us, but bragging about his power over the people.  We should always qualify what we are told be it by an anchor in the tank for a candidate or salesman with a wicked cool tool.  C Hughes

Fixed it Michael!

I like speaking about all kinds of tools less about the one under discussion. Obama is a tool for the media. He is their Messiah not mine. I have no room for more than one God in my life. The man has no qualifications, no experience and no new ideas. He achieved his quick rise to the top of political stardom running in a heavily Democratic liberal leaning State against some very weak Republican candidates. That said, I'm not a fan of the other guy either. But at least he is respectful of the country, experienced and able to speak for himself besides I'm used to holding my nose while voting for most politicians.

In fairness to Obama, I don't believe that the military allows the use of its troops for political campaigning and photo-ops. With that, the true character of a man is not what he does when eyes are upon him but when nobody is looking. Where has he been? Hanging out with some of the foulest creme puffs in Chicago!

Per was right, this is a TOOL Forum, where we talk and sometimes argue about TOOLS, this was not the place for the original, misplaced topic and it's not the place to start discussing politics,

watch your relevancy people, the few who contribute are providing help and guidance for the many who simply read (and who will come to read and judge whether it's worth the time in future).

If any of the entertainers and TV personalities discussed above have been seen using Festools then maybe we should hear about them, or their views on those tools, otherwise remember my advice from months ago, get a sticky label and write "IS THIS RELEVANT?" on it and stick it over the "post" button on your screen as a reminder

That sounds like the manual used for training many of USA politicians.  Of course, if accused, they'd deny it, and serve up another round.  You don't have to fool all the people all the time, just enough of them at the right time(s) to get (re)elected.
