As I'm always experimenting trying to get the best finish possible when spraying waterborne paint, PPG Breakthrough in this case, I thought I would try a 310 tip and new gaurd from Tritech Industries. Well, let me tell these work great and the are cheaper then the Graco FFLP tips and last a whole lot longer. The Tungsten carbide is rated at 93 on the hardness scale with diamond being 100. I believe the Graco tips are around 70-75. NOt a 100% certaing on the fact. Heard it through the grapevine.
The fan pattern was achieved at a lower pressure thus reducing overspray and speed needed to travel across your panel. I initially tried it on my Graco Ultra handheld, tomorrow I will try it on my GX19.
Was able to spray PPG breakthrough with the pressure set at 4 on the dial and sprayed about 10" from surface.

No more Graco Tips for me.

Cheers,
JC

Well that’s certainly interesting.  I looked for them on amazon, no dice (in the sizes I would need), but the company is only 15 miles from my office (doubt they sell direct though).  Gotta try a few of the online painting equipment suppliers.
