While we doubt any Festool was used in this amazing feat of carving, check out the new Guinness World Record for Longest Continuous Wood Carving. Zheng Chunhui, a famous wood carver, spent four years creating the artwork which is over 40ft long and made from a single tree trunk.

And I'd love to understand how to map a 3D scan of the tree trunk as the non-flat dynamic surface to the somehow project the carving image onto it in a curved 3D space.
 
If it were me, assuming that I had those skills which I don't, I would have gotten done to the very end and wanted to chisel away one last little imperfection and the whole thing would have busted apart and fallen in the floor.  [scared]
