Hey Guys, I have a gentleman that is looking for gun cabinet plans.  He is wanting to build this cabinet out of Walnut and it needs to hold 12 guns.

Any Ideas?  Most of the plans out there are for 3-4-5 guns, and he is looking for something a bit bigger.  Bill is somewhat of a beginner and need some instruction with the plans.

Thanks FOG!

Oh, man. You don't know what it's like Down Under, always "You Americans and your guns, everybody has a gun, gun, gun gun". And now this! No one will believe me now. Tell him he's not a real American unless he always carries his gun with him.

Here in Nebraska we need to be ready when the Pheasant start to develop pouches and move out of the fields foraging in the trash-cans of city dwellers; or perhaps their beak becomes "spoon-shape"?  Have you never been to a wild Pheasant Reserve where people drive by, roll down their windows and actually feed the Birds.  Yes Eli, Aboriginal Nebraskans still hunt with shotguns legally obtained and thus always abiding by "Hunter Safety Program Rules of the Hunt"  Just think, if Festool had orange switches and levers, Deer would never be able to use them :o

Unfortunately for some, firearms seem to be a NAONA (NAOUSA?) product.
Most Americans just don't understand the logic behind letting the state control who is safe and who is not.
You could still use the cabinet for your collection of sharp sticks (they are still legal, right?) or whatever else it is they use over there.

just my thoughts

What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back?
A stick!

They use dull bent sticks here, but a rock will work in a pinch. Rocks make for a speedy reload as well. Most natives just hit a kangaroo with a vehicle, that usually brings them down quick and pretty easy to aim.

We're sort of still on topic, this will help:http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_journal/woodworking/1273026.html
he could increase the length dimensions on this one.....

Timmy C,

I don't have any gun cabinet plans, but I have seen  at county fairs in Ohio and PA many excellent cabinets made by high school students.  Seeing the finished product enables better understanding of its design features.  If you or he contacts some of those students, their teachers, you now have access to the plans you want.  Most gun cabinets I have seen are designed to store the long guns vertically, barrel ends up and resting separate notches, stock ends down and resting on a base which is commonly notched or otherwise divided to keep the gunstocks from hitting one another.  Those who want to show off their collection typically use a panel and frame construction for both the doors and sides of the cabinet and fit them with glass.  Those who don't use solid panels.  Most include a few drawers below the doors for ammunition supplies and accessories.  Good luck!
