Halloween Costume

Let me preface this post stating that I hate Halloween! That said, my wife insists that we are going to some fancy Halloween party, on Park Avenue, this Friday. (No, I'm not rich [huh]) ( This is closer to Ralph Kramden invited to a party.)
Well, yes,  I have to wear a costume! [embarassed]
I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was seven years old.
I was thinking that perhaps, this might be an excuse to buy some woodworking clothes or something that I could end up using. Surely, she can't give me a hard time about this purchase.  [scratch chin]
Please, help with ideas for a costume. Yes, you may make fun at my expense. I can take it.  [doh]

Tape/glue bunches of crumpled newspaper all over yourself and go as a fire hazard.

Good thread...I find myself in the same boat...I was advised last night that I had to go to a party and I have not dressed up in decades...no idea what to do...I am trying to keep a positive attitude and I know it is important to my better half...
