Hey all...

Would anyone happen to know the cost for Hammer C3-31 (US$)?
Yea it's a combo machine which I dont think i'd mind. Lately I've
been looking at their K3-31 tablesaw and the A3-26 jointer and i've
come across the C3-31 is all in one TS/Joint/Planer, shaper as
well as mortising. Not looking for all the goodies, maybe some.

See here: Hammer C3-31

I am considering this whereas I only have 10'w x 20' working space
and this might fit the bill especially a sliding table to boot.

Anyone with experience and as what to look out for would also be
considered. Does it come in single phase? I sent out an inquiry
before so I wont get a reply for couple days and thought i'd ask here.

Thanks all to your replies.

PS: Someone recently said Festool was a gateway drug.... bastarts!  ;D

Hey road... thanks a batch!  [big grin]

Not as bad as I was thinking.

Where were the prices? Said I had to login or reg to see.
I reg'd, log'd in & got a no user exist message.

Anyone know if they're single phase?

Contact Hammer via E mail, they will give you much better prices than the ones posted online.

It does come in single phase.  There's been a number of updates since I bought mine back in 2007, but it's good. Consider the helix head for the planer. I've got the Perform, as the longer length makes it simple to cut full sheet goods. The only issue is you might find the 10' width a bit tight for cross cuts given the position of the saw blade. I'd also consider buying aftermarket wheels for moving it around - it's a beast! There's also a FOG (Felder Owner's group) if you want specific questions answered from those who already own it. I'd also recommend an RL125 or something comparable for dust collection, especially if you're going to use the planer/joiner.

[member=39399]tazcubed[/member] - thanks for the guidance but the other FOG looks like a ghost town.
Some questions havent been answered since '13/'14.

As for 10' width u mention, couldnt I turn it 90deg?

Dunno, getting 2nd thoughts on it. Originally was thinking
of the A3-26 Jointer, K3-31 table saw and the 4400 Bandsaw.
Dont really need the shaper jammie.

Thanks for all replies

Try the Felder Owners Group (the 1st FOG) on Yahoo groups.  You have to register and that group has been around much longer with a much greater knowledge base.

I was considering the combo machine, but I switched my thinking to a saw/spindle combo and a planer/thicknesser (and a bandsaw) ... then I've started looking at Felder over Hammer [crying]

Space is driving my decisions too - I can't physically fit the combo, but I can squeeze a bandsaw and a planer/thicknesser against the wall ... until I can make more room (get the saw/spindle later).

The mobility stands are the way to go, regardless of the machine(s) you pick ...

Gateway they are!!!

Ok, being impatient here. Decided to go with
the N4400 bandsaw and A3-31. Going to put
the K3-31 on hold till after the new year.

What ballpark shipping charges might there be?

Also, the N4400 delivers laying down?

Sorry, i need to know this, otherwise I'll be
up all night long asking more questions and
then be bloodshot for work tomoro.

Whats the link for the Yahoo FOG...?

Thanks again!

N4400 delivers standing up. They dont lay them down.

In Australia they ship them lying down - mine was loaded onto my trailer by Felder on its back. It did have a scratch on it though, but I let it go since it's against a wall anyway.

Ok then... we'll see how this will go. We have until Dec 21st
for the promotion going on and will be doing the A3-26 & N440 soon.

Thanks all!  [blink]

I have the C3  31 perform  which was manufactured in 2009. Picked it up  in nice condition  second hand for  £3500.
Have since added  the dado facility  and  rip fence  with  fine adjustment.
Its the center piece  off my small  900sq/feet  workshop plus the N4400.

When you hit the start button on these  machines (single phase)  you have to hold them "ON"  for a few seconds

The only issue is you might find the 10' width a bit tight for cross cuts given the position of the saw blade. I'd also consider buying aftermarket wheels for moving it around - it's a beast!

Not sure    what you mean here taz? ???

Sorry for being terribly vague - poor use of terminology. If he's trying to cut a 4'x8' sheet width-wise (4') in a 10' area, he needs roughly 9' of the garage width to clear the blade at start and end of the cut. It also means a bit of a safety issue - how will he be positioned to see the cut and handle the machine? It's a bit extreme, but things he has to consider given the size of the room and what kinds of materials he's going to push through on it.

Hope this clarifies things.

lol... i could imagine the C3 a beast for small spaces like mine.
But that and the K3 not happening for now. I got one of those
Table/Saw router table jammies built and recently put a chunk of
coin into that build that isnt finished. [tongue]

I found out that there are no A3-26 Jointer/Planer combo avail till March.
But I can put a deposit for March's delivery. N4400 bandsaw ordering tomoro.

So just in case others dont realize, Dec. 21st is coming fast for the promotions end.
20% deposit and/or financing available.

Well, lets see what happens.

Thanks again all  [eek]
