Does anyone here have any personal experience with the new Hammer baby CNC machines (yes, I've seen Marius Hornberger's youtube review). HNC 47.82 and variations

[attachimg=1].

Wondering how it compares to something like the tried-and-tested Axiom machines.

Didn’t X-Carve come up with some new (expensive) cnc machines?

X-carve pro? Pre-order for around ½ price ~ $6K for the 4x4 version. Full price puts it up with the axioms and hammers of the world. It's another interesting machine, but...

I'm in Australia, so it's not an option at the moment - I think the initial machines will go to the US market.

Marius has pimped his CNC to the max with his latest mod.

Those mods are awesome.  HNC looks interesting but what is the price point of it?

From a news release: "The Hammer HNC sells for $6,399 with a 1kW router and $8,799 with a 2.2kW spindle."

A cnc with ATC is well needed and so damn convenient.
Camaster, Shop Sabre & the like should follow that ATC lead
w/ the smaller machines. Must suck doing manual changes.

Kudos to Marius!  [blink] [huh] [cool] [big grin]

Yes indeed.  There are atc cnc routers out there but their price point and size are not too friendly :)

If Felder in the US are anything like Felder here, the $6,399 "price" is only the start. Every little nut or screw extra = more money. It became a pretty pricey machine by the time I had it where I wanted it.

I think a lot of the extra price in ATC's comes from the spindle itself - they're significantly more expensive than non-ATC - easily double. Adding the pneumatics and isn't too costly in terms of equipment, but it adds a fair bit to build time.

Marius is turning his machine into a fantastic little beast.
