I noticed that the Hammer USA website has promotional pricing on several of their products including the A3 31 | 310 mm Jointer-Planer, with regular price listed at $4,195.00 with a sale price of $3,596.00 ($599.00 in savings). Is this a good deal for a limited time? Are they coming out with a new model? What's the best route to purchase one, or can you only get them through Hammer USA?

I purchased mine on sale and also went for the silent power cutter head. I think it is a great deal. The unit is built like a tank. The pieces that can be made with it come out very accurate. Just be ready to do something about the power cord. Also it is heavy to get off of the pallet. If you are in a small shop the mobility kit is a must. Other than that I say get your order in soon as it will take them time to build it for you. Mine took about seven weeks from serious money for the down payment to final payment and then subsequent delivery of the unit. They want the money before the unit is in your shop. Highly recommended.

In Europe they have sales 2 or 3 times a year with serious reductions. But it is so regular that everybody waits for these actions to order. Or in between actions you may get lucky to get a reduction on an order that was cancelled like i was when i bought my F3 shaper.
So it doesn't indicate that the model may be going out of production, they don't seem to hold any stock and build everything on demand. On this side there is no sign of an update, though they are now introducing Hammers with dark grey/black color instead of red representing the larger high end Hammers. The Felder range is changing color as well, the mid range used to be green but now it is dark grey.

Annual price increases are on Feb 1st and the next sale will be in the spring. So if you can get in on the sale now, it's probably a good time. I thought the winter promotional sale was only until 1/8, but maybe it's running a bit longer.
