Hammer N4400 - building a bigger table

Hi.
I've seen that quite a number of FOG-members have the Hammer N4400 bandsaw. I'm very happy with mine, but the table is quite tiny. I ordered mine with the table extensions, but they didn't fulfill my needs. The extension table now lives permanently at my Hammer J/P.

The fasteners for the Hammer extensions was perfect for attaching my own table. Thought I'd share the project if anyone else is up for it..

Nice one,
Indeed the stock table is really small, first thing i did with mine was to build an outfeed table about 1m long held with pegs, i can also place it on the side if i wanted to.
This way i can resaw boards up to 2-3m long without having to put my weight on them to keep em flat on the table!

but my bandsaw is beside the door and this would be in the walkway
iv been trying to think of a way to make it removable easily. there are no threaded locations like on yours

Great idea...I wish I knew how to weld.  Really like the extra space and it seems like it does not interfere with the blade changes, etc...

I know this question does not fit the thread directly, but to those of you who have the Hammer N4400; can it handle tensioning a 1' blade with no problems? I may get this saw but would use it mostly for re-sawing and my research indicates that a 1' blade is the go-to size.

I had a gas spring on order for a completely other project. After reading Mattias' article I added a new spring for my Hammer as well. The new spring was about 15 USD.

Just took delivery of a brand new N4400 myself. Glad I found this thread I have been looking to do something like this myself. Links to images appear to be dead though. Any chance the OP could do a refresh on those or perhaps repost them?

Sorry, can't find them. I tend to not be very careful with those snap-n-post photos. If you'd like I can take some new photos. Is there any particular detail you are interested in?

Shucks. Well that would be very nice of you if you could. I was most interested in your frame and how it attached to the bottom of the table as well as how you attached the wooden extension to the frame. Im wondering how I could create a similar style frame but with the wooden extensions somewhat easily removable so I could also build a longer narrow extension for circle cutting. Sort of to mimic the Hammer option:

I use  two way sliding tables  on dado slots  made from mdf  to do large  dovetails  on my N4400.. Works really well and  fast..
The tuffsaw  saw blades have  a  nice thin kerf  which  helps the accuracy.
This is  the  pins set up..

And the  finished product... Well not quite, some sculpting to do now  to make it look pretty..

HA! Michael you Sir are awesome! I still havent built a table extension for my N4400, so these images will still help. Thank you!

Ah! And I see now you used the "L brackets" from the Hammer extension mounts. I dont have those so I was planning on going a different route. Something more like this that used the bolt holes under the table.

Just to give an alternative approach...

I made four steel brackets that screwed into the four tapped holes on the table underside edge. Ripped some scrap to fit on top and shimmed the table top to level with some veneer. The table top is made of chipboard flooring.
