I am interested in getting a Festool hand sand block that fits the 6" paper. I am not interested in the kit, just want one block (i am cheap). What do you use more often, the hard or soft block?

I have the kit and use the hard most.  I don't want to round over the edges.

I would also be interested in the hard sand block also.  And how much for the whole kit and just the hard block.  I'm cheap too.

Like Peter I have the kit and the hard block is used most often for me too.

You asked, and from the Festool USA website:

The promotional version had the Festool green mini systainer.  Now they are normal colored.

I use the round hard - I have lots of round paper for the Rotex 150 and the ETS 150/3.

I also use the hard sanding block the most.  I have loads of the 150mm paper, so those get plenty of use.

Actually I prefer the 80x133 rectangular block.  Just more comfy in my hand, but I own much less variety of that paper.

Hi,

I have the kit. I would say I use the one for 150 hard the most. But I have used all of them depending on the purpose. They work well are very comfortable hold.

So I use the 150mm hard the most, definitely... the square one (takes RTS-400/LS-130 papers) I use second most although it is mostly out of convenience that I have those papers around; without it, I'd just switch on the 150mm hard.

For me, the soft always has a coarse grit and I use it when finessing something by hand that needs 'hogging'.

If I had to pick one, 150mm hard.

If I had to pick two, 150mm hard and rectangular.

If you go to buy 2, you're so close to the kit that you should just get it... you get an extra block and a SysMini.
