Has anyone built a greenhouse? Share your ideas.

Per the title, we are considering a small greenhouse in the corner of the back yard, probably no more than 6' by 8', if that large. I'd like to make a stout cedar frame, with the winds we get I don't trust the inexpensive kits to hold up over time. Needs to be visually pleasing to pass the spousal-approval test.

Looking for any suggestions on materials & construction techniques, as well as thoughts on year-round heating and ventilation.

There is an acrylic type of product that is constructed like cardboard with face sheets and corrugation. Or like a down sleeping bag.
The material is broadly called "danpalon".

I would call them and see what they recommend.
It is not cheap, but considering the use it seems pretty much what you want.
