Has anyone tried the "new" Bosch T308B jig saw blade?

I saw a small article in the November 2008 issue of Popular Woodworking (page 32) about a new Bocsh T308B jig saw blade.  According to the article, and also a thread at Sawmill Creek, these blades cut exceptionally smoothly.  Has anyone here tried them in your Festool jig saw?  I cannot find any reference to these blades on the Bosch web site.  Hmmm.  Here's the SMC thread:

I'll be looking for some to try out, and will report back when I find them.

David, Amazon has the blades for $10.51 and if you have prime account with them shipment is "free" (between quotes because you pay a fee every year for prime account).

P.S.

Let me correct myself.  I just double check and the amazon website says "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months"

David,

I picked up a pack today at the Hartville Hardware sale but haven't tried them out yet.  I will try out the blades and let you know how they are.  I also picked up the DeWalt fixed 90 degree stop and they fit the Festool guiderail just right.

I just picked up a package of them from Lowes, the last package they had in stock, but haven't tried them yet.

Well I gave the new Bosch blades a try and they are as advertised.  Very nice cut!!!

These blades are excellent, as well as a very very clean cut, they enabled me to cut quite straight lines freehand.

I paid AUD$15 for 5 blades. Recommended!

Hi Jarrah,

Where in oz did you get the blades? Do Bunnings of Mitre 10 sell them?

Cheers,
Rob.

Hi Robbo, I've been trying to get them for over 4 months. Oz Bosch site didn't refer to them; an email enquiry to Bosch asking who stocked them was ignored.  US Amazon didn't have stock.  A UK online retailer had was them but postage to Oz was prohibitive.

Then then after having checked the shelves at Bunnings every couple of weeks or so, I walked into the Big Green Warehouse yesterday evening and the assistant was hanging them onto the rack hook.  The shelf price was listed as $42! but when I took it through the checkout it charged at $15 (AUD that is).

This was at Bunnings Joondalup in Perth, so I assume that all Bunnings will be rolling them out as a stock item. Good luck.

I have bought from amazon since Nov 10 and I got an email that they shipped the blades today.  Meaning they are available at Amazon.

I bought a pack of them at Lowe's (about $14) over a week ago.  I've been using them on plywood with almost no tear out on either side of the cut.  Expensive but nice.

Tom.
