Hi all,

I have recently purchased a CTM 36l M Class Autoclean and planex 225 to sand my house for painting but recently have found some mould in the house.

Its only a small area of mould but I was wondering if I would be able to buy both the H class filters and H class bags to upgrade the CTM 36l AC?

These are the items I am hoping will be compatible:
Filter -https://www.festool.com.au/main-filter-h-class-for-cth-2648-205198.html
H class bags 26  -https://www.festool.com.au/replacement-h-class-safety-bag-for-ct-26-3-pack-497541.html
H class bags 48 -https://www.festool.com.au/replacement-h-class-safety-bag-for-ct-48-3-pack-497542.html

Since my vacuum is 36 litres its a bit awkward to have bag sizes of 26 vs 48.... would love to know if there are opinions of which is better to go with in this situation.

This is purely for my personal home renovations DIY not for any commercial reasons. I actually did intend to buy the H class initially but was told by a festool sales person that H class wasn't worth it and that the M class could still do lead, mould etc but I'm not sure how true that was. Is there really much difference between the M class and H class besides the filters and bags above?

Any advice appreciated!

You can look in their EKAT system to see if there is any difference between the M and H

As far as I know; there is none. Besides bags and filters of course.

Always the bigger bag. Bags too small will rupture.

As a newbie i have no idea what the ekat system is but will look it up!

Ok will go for the bigger bag! i wasn't sure if bigger was better haha

I wonder how many people end up trying to shove H class filters and bags into an M class like I am or am I the only idiot

I think nobody gets H bags and filters for home use.
Buy a longer hose, place the CTM outside and go...?

place ctm outside? is that a viable option?

wouldn't it be a risk still after you bring the ctm back in for other jobs? as in its contaminated and will keep blowing contaminants from then on? or am I misunderstanding how they work?

I do have another crappy karcher shopback I could place outside? But after I do it I guessing I need to throw out all fiilters and bags before reusing it back inside?

Does no one use H class bags and filters for home use because they aren't that much more effective for mould asbestos etc?

Well, how many ppl sand trough the mold without even knowing? Like... what is the risk even?

For asbestos; where I live the things you are DIY allowed to do are highly limited anyway.

ah mould is more of a risk for pregnancy and kids (which are applicable to me). I just ripped up my toilet and laundry and have removed a tonne of mould and treated areas with hydrogen peroxide but wanted the vacuum to remove the mould after its been killed as it always remains active till physically removed.

May be overkill but am going to swap out both the filter and bags for H class just to be on the safe side =)
