Hi Everyone,

My name is Dom hence D.O.M. or Dirty Old Man. Not really old or dirty, well not very.

I work as as a builder specialising in high end bathroom and kitchen refurbs. I am a novice wood worker and haope to learn a lot.

I have been lurking around for the past few months and have really enjoyed the forum.

I first learned of Festool when about 8 years ago I purchased a Protool VCP 260 for concrete grinding. Great vac which I still use for all the dirtier jobs.

I was one of those who always admired festool products but was always scared off by the price. That is until I purchased a TS55R and the rest is history.

Over the past 3 months I have accumulated the following:

TS55R  (Aluminium Blade is unbelievably awesome)  :-*
Track Accessory systainer
OF1010
DSC125
PSBC420
PS Accessory systainer
CT26
MFT3
CMS VL
CMS TS55R
CMS OF
OF2200
OF2200 Accessory systainer
Gecko
Domino XL
3 x Domino Systainer sets
Heaps of other bits and pieces.

To Come:

DF500 or Seneca RTS-500 (does anyone still have stock of the RTS-500 I am struggling to find someone that will ship to Australia.)
ETS EC
Rotex 90
CMS sliding table
CXS
Centrotec installers set
CTL Sys
KAPEX
OF400

[welcome]

Looks like you've got a good start!

I'm jealous of your DSC125 which is not sold in the USA.  I WANT ONE!

Looking forward to your posts...and pictures of your work.

Cheers,
Frank

Welcome 'northerner'!  [big grin]

Looking fwd to some of your future posts.

Great to add a "Dirty" to the user list, seems to fits in well with "Untidy"

Man you have been a busy shopper this last three months, your dealer must love you stepping into their store.

Good luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Will definitely post pics of my first few projects (CMS and systainer rolling storage cart and bar stools) soon and pics of my garage workshop once I get a bit more organised. Looks like a missile test site at the moment.

Sitting Elf, DSC125 is probably the least impressive of my lot of Festools but still pretty good. I come from a tiling and stone fabrication background so it I am pretty handy with a angle grinder freehand. Its great for getting my apprentice to do trickier cuts without making a mess of. Also useful for less dusty wall chasing and cutting perfectly straight control joins in concrete.

Welcome to the forum mate.
Well, thats already a swag you have. I'm surprised you don't already have one of the festool routers, especially for bathroom/kitchen work. You're gonna like them.
And the Kapex.
And the Sanders. ETS 150 is so sweet. Rolex quite aggressive.
And from what I understand of the small CSX drill, great for cabinet door and hinge installs and awkward spots....

Welcome aboard Dom.

Are you looking to introduce high end timber work into bathrooms, etc or are you branching out?

Kev.

Getting into woodworking more as a hobby, but definietly going to have a plus of being able to offer more customised work to my clients when I skill up. Especially keen on being able to offer custom hardwood vanity units maybe even wine cellars and more unique stuff.

About a month ago I scored a truck load of perfectly dressed, furniture grade hardwood from a stair manufacturer that went bust. Cost peanuts so I thought why not invest in tools so I can turn it in to some nice furniture. Still trying to workout what I have got but there is definitely rosewood, kwilla, spotted gum, tas oak in there.

Nice score! [wink]

I've got 100 commercial rolls of edge banding for you when you move into cabinets  [embarassed]

Not listening lalala  [tongue]

Don't tell me about the edge banding or I'll go out and buy a conturo. Anyone know a good divorce lawyer? I am already in enough trouble.
