New Tool Purchases

It's a nice shop.  I like the miter saw table.  There are a bunch of nice set-ups in FOG for building/adding better dust collection.  Is this also a man-cave? If not, then put the TV somewhere else and concentrate on your building. Don't want a mishap.

Thanks for the comments, I must add the tv's not on when I'm working but I do tend to go out in the evening and apply Danish oil to certain projects, so it's more when I'm doing that just for a bit of background noise.

I like the TV.  Watch some football while I work.  Or watch some youtube videos of how other people use their Festool!

Does the boom arm rotate at the wall?

I like the kapex table.  I would have raised the surface of the kapex table to match the MFT and lowered the kapex just so I could increase table surface and storage under the table.  The fence lays on top of the table and have some predrilled dogs holes to align the fence when needed and clamp.  I like the idea of having t-tracks on either side of the kapex for additional clamping for those difficult pieces.

Did you have a table saw before the TS75 module?  Any differences?  How wide can you rip on the CMS?

I would rout some recesses under where the systainers feet sit in the sysport. I found it irritating that they slide around (with my set up). There are of course other ways you can stop them sliding around.

I plan on adding a monitor so I can stream wood working how-to vids into the shop
just so I don't have to keep running back into the house & keep rewinding & reviewing my "how'd they do that again ? " moments

That's really cool nice set up .like the boom arm .might try something like that myself

You need a beer fridge and a big comfy chair to watch those woodwork clips.

Nice setup!

You purchased quite a bit at one time, but I'm still curious - have you added to it even after that monster purchase?

I bet you have, but I don't know what. Please tell us and stop me from wondering?

Yours is a very impressive "starter shop". Very wise decisions.

If I were to round out the shop, I'd add a set of Woodpeckers squares (largest to smallest), Woodpeckers rulers (short and long), Starrett combination square set, and a Festool 1010 router to augment the monster 2200. I didn't see a drill press and I use mine all the time. I'd add a CXS and C15 drill. I'd buy some excellent ear muffs for noise abatement. I assume you have eye protection. I'd replace the non-Festool dust extractor if the one you have is noisy.

My wife and I have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy on her purchases and my purchases. If she does ask about one of my purchases, I tell her exactly what I bought and what I paid. I show the tool, or whatever, and explain in excruciating detail how it is used and why I needed it. We trust each other to use good financial judgement and we trust each other to be completely honest. And, yes, I do tell her if something she is wearing makes her look fat. I say "that dress doesn't do justice to your beautiful figure". She tell me "you're getting fat". Such is married life.

+1 on the fridge, all you need now is a stool and stereo surround system lol. love your diy boomarm.
