HELP! I am SO sick......

Fear not for after one has the majority of the Festool line up a good cure is to buy some floor machinery. Such as a Bandsaw, jointer planer unit or separates and of course a sliding tablesaw. Thus there will always be an outlet for your addictions. Oh my bad lest we not forget the luxury hand tools and measuring and on and on and on!!!

Wayyyy ahead of you!  I'm in trouble. I already own two Bandsaws (Laguna Italian LT20 and 14SUV), a Hammer A3-41 Jointer/Planer, Sawstop 3HP PCS Tablesaw, Delta Floor Drill Press, JDS 3HP Cyclone, Powermatic 3520B Lathe, Laguna Revo Mini-lathe, and an empty bank account! [tongue]

To feed the disease, I'll be upgrading my Sawstop to their Industrial model 5HP (ICS), getting a Jet Oscillating Drum Sander (22-44), and a CNC-Step CNC machine (1000T). If that doesn't cure the addiction, I'm looking at a Dutch Leapfrog 3D Printer as well. Argh!!!!!!!!!!

You have no idea how bad this addiction is!  I don't even have my shop completely wired yet for all these machines! [scared]

I am SOooooooo Screwed!

I'd say your Electrician might also have some issues...

Tom

Now (like me...), you gotta buy some lumber! :o

And now with Batcaves admission, I don't feel so bad only having 4 MFT/3's  [laughing]

Frank

I think you need to look at incra ,woodpecker ......you need an anodised addiction it will help

All you need Frank, is a boat load of illegal immigrants from Cuba to work all those machines while you shop for more shinnies with the profits you make selling all the products built in your factory [tongue]

You're kidding, right?? [blink]

What the heck do you think got me started down this slippery obsessive compulsive slope in the FIRST place?? [sad]
Incra was the gateway drug to the more addictive and dangerous Green horrors. [scared]

Here's my Tablesaw all dressed up a few years ago when it was new.....  [eek]
[attachimg=#]

Now let's see.... my Incra inventory:
TS LS Fence with Wonderfence
Miter 5000 miter sled
Router table extension for the saw with Jessum Mast-r-lift
iBox
HingeCrafter
Incra original gauge
Marking Rules
Bend Rules and T-Rules

Now thinking about a dedicated Incra Routing Table with the CleanSweep Dust Collection System.

Oh, and let's not forget the Red Anodized .... Yup, got some as well!  (Latest was their Triangle, though not overly impressed)

So, all said....NO... it WON'T help the addiction! [big grin]

Cheers,

Frank

ha ha i sort of new that would be your answer

frank i think its great you have come to terms with your addiction you can openly talk about and share your FIX"S with everyone .i think there is another type of addiction here on the fog where addicts feed there problem in secret .buying fesstuff and stashing it without telling everyone .storing parts/accessorys in unopened packs in a cupboard

i have a "FRIEND" with this type of addiction

OK.. so now it's getting to the point where this disease is becoming a serious, uncontrollable problem!  [crying]

I need to go back to Germany where I at least had to drive 25 minutes away to see and buy my Festool products. Gave me a chance to "think" about it! [blink]

So... woke up this morning at 0430. Couldn't sleep anymore, so out to the kitchen for the first of about 20 cups of coffee today.  Sat down at the 'puter, and read all the Unread Posts on FOG overnight. Fun!  Then... over to ToolHome to confirm that my Granat Assortments for the 90 and 150 were processing. YES...good! While on the site, I happened to notice that Tom also has a 190 piece Granat assortment for the DTS 400 Delta Orbital Sander. Wow...NICE! Hmmm... OK... ordered! Yay!

Happy. Not even through the first cup of coffee and already have more Festool product inbound. Yay!

WAIDAMINIT!!!  I don't OWN a DTS 400! [eek] Hmmm......

Don't want to upset my drug pusher at Tool Home by cancelling, so off to Amazon where, Saints Be Praised, they have the DTS 400 in stock with Prime shipping...two day delivery for FREE!
Hmmm...OK... Ordered! Coming to the house on Tuesday. Yay!
Well, wait....hmmmm....not Yay!  On the confirmation page on Amazon, they showcase "other" products that you may have an interest in based on your previous purchases. There's the SysCart on the page. Hmmm.... I already have three of them, but I DO have more systainers inbound from new purchases and my NAINA tools coming in from from our move to the USA from Germany. Hmmm.... Well....I can wait. Yup, not buying anymore of them today!! Good for me! [big grin] Hmmmm......except there's a picture of the SysRoll below the SysCarts. Hmmm..... that might come in handy! Yes... I can think of at least a time or two in my lifetime that I "might" could use it. I find my finger moving ever so slowly to the 1-click Order button on the page.... trying desperately to resist, but a noise from outside of my house distracts me (a bird chirped), and when I look back at my computer, the order confirmation page is up again!! How did THAT happen? [scared] Hmmm...Yup....Tuesday delivery as well! Yay!

OMG!  It's not even 0830 in the morning yet, and I've already placed three Festool orders!  Next thing you know, I'll be ordering while I sleepwalk.  I wonder if there's an inpatient facility somewhere that deals with this kind of addiction. I desperately need a rehabilitation program....BADLY!

Cheers,

Frank

Frank,  I get my "fix" vicariously thru reading about the purchasing exploits of members like you!   [thumbs up]

I do have a Sys Kooler coming this week so I am not immune to the disease - just in temporary remission.

I think they call the sessions end-user training courses in Indiana and some other place in the States... Kinda like FA meeting grounds  [popcorn]
I've heard alot of good things come out of there  [wink]

I've just spoken with my wife who is still in Germany for another 12 days.

She wished me a Happy Father's Day and asked me what I wanted.... [tongue]

I decided it might be best to let sleeping dogs lie, so i said I had everything I wanted...and the German-bought Festool products WERE my Father's day gift.  [smile]
(She has no clue!!! [scared])

She's happy....and I'm dang happy!! [eek]

Happy Father's Day to all of you Dads. I've got a six year old who can't wait to work in the shop with me...and neither can I! [big grin]

Cheers,

Frank

Hi Frank,
I believe they say when you get to the "might coulds", you know you're in trouble.  [eek]
Not judging.  8)
Thank you for sharing your story.

Today I'm grateful I can sit in (chat)rooms on the internet and talk about the green goodness with other like-minded souls who will nod their heads... because they (too) know.
One day at a time.
One day at a time. One day at a time. One day at a time.

LOL.  [big grin]

If so, you need to put a camera in the Florida workshop so we can all see the first time she tries to put her car in the 'garage'!  [scared] [eek] [big grin]

I don't want to sound ignorant, but exactly what is a "Garage", and what does it do? This a new word to me....  [scratch chin]

"But baby, I need all this stuff to fix that dining room chair so it doesn't wobble anymore"!

Dear Frank,

it seems that you are in over your head. What is important is that you know how to swim. Good luck!

You may have just stumbled onto something here ... we need a resource page that allows the selection of a specific Festool and provides a list of viable household sabotage options that would justify it's purchase. [cool]

Better half .. "Darling, what are these damp marks on the ceiling under the upstairs bathroom?"

You .. "Oh darn, now I'll have to buy a collated screw gun and a PLANEX to repair it"

Ahhh.... nothing like an unexpected morning delivery of the Green stuff! [big grin]

DTS400 came from Amazon a day earlier than expected!  Awesome!
WOW! There's even ONE...count'em...ONE sheet of abrasive that comes with the sander!  That must have cost Festool a significant portion of their profit!  [blink] [dead horse]

Tomorrow SysRoll arrives. Later this week - Cooltainer, Domino 700XL, Granat assortments (3), Domino assortments (2). Hmmm...what else shall I buy now....oh yeah... Domiplates!

Festool Heaven, folks! [drooling] [thumbs up]

Frank

UPDATE: Well... the SysRoll came a day early too!  Bravo Amazon!!  [tongue]
