Help Using 577280 Dust Extraction Hose

Hi! I purchased a 577280 dust collection splitter and can't figure out how to use it! It comes with two hoses with connectors on one end and nothing on the other end. Which end goes in the splitter? If I use the end with the connectors, there seems to be a gap in the fit; the hose connectors do not fully seat in the splitter. If I try to insert the "raw" ends I can't get them in at all. I'm confused! Any assistance appreciated. Thanx! hb

From the pic, it looks like the 'raw' ends screw into the Y splitter - the ends with fittings already on them definitely go to your tool. (This splitter is designed for the Festool table saws/CMS units)
Does the Y have a thread inside the two outlets?
