I not a computer guru in any sense of the word, that said I needed to find a happy medium with the keyboard controls. I have little to no feeling in my fingers and tremors. I have the newest windows(which I hate) and cannot find the sweet spot were I can still type fast [unsure] and not have to press one the keys one action at a time ( I want to be able to scroll). Thanks forward, B
PS: An thoughts on Dragon softwear?

For typing, yes Dragon software would be your best option. If you're using or planning to use programs such as autocad, sketchup or other cad/design software look into setting up "hotkeys" for these programs.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is IMHO the best of its kind that there is today. I use it on the Mac frequently.

Warning - it's not as good as Siri on the iPhone, and it's a FAR cry from the sci-fi computers that respond to voice questions and commands.

People seem to either love it or hate it.

If you decide to buy it, do yourself a favor and do so when you can dedicate a little time to learn it. That way you have the best chance of success...rather than having it installed but never used.

Does that help?

Dragon Naturally Speaking has been around for a lot longer time and for dictating text it can be very good. But to be good the system needs to learn you speech patterns and you need to speak clearly and even use a set of given commands. I know of Pathologist that dictate their reports and the program does a far better job than their transcribers did. But each doctor dictates almost 50 or more reports a day. If they have to edit the report, and they usually have minor edits to do, they do it using keyboard because vocally editing is not easy and it is faster to use the keyboard.

If you can find someone with product ask if you can see how it works.

If you have a tablet, netbook, or notebook computer you might want to look at a 3rd party keyboard, since these types of computers tend to have smaller keyboards with less key travel and flat key tops.

I' m hoping that a golly old soul will be stuffing my stocking, with something other than a lump of coal and a few bills.  ;D
thanks again and all have a wonderful & Peaceful Holiday
