I just purchased a RTS 400 and RS2 sander before the price increase. Put them to use on a long closet organizer that had been given 1 coat of water based primer. I am using brilliant 2 in 180 grit to smooth out the surface before applying paint. With both sanders I am getting small clumps of build-up on the abrasive, almost seems to me like it is kinda melting the primer?

The sanders gets too unruly at high suction so i turned the vac down to almost the lowest setting and the sander speed around 4. What can I do to prevent the loading?

Whats the primer product and how long after application did you sand?

I like crystal with paint removal. Use a silicone stick on the paper every minute or so and it will help in reducing the buildup. MARK

I rolled on 1 coat of Kilz2 water based primer and waited 2 full days before sanding this morning. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Turn the suction on the vac all the way down, keep the sander speed at 6 and go to 220g (Granat if possible, its the best for this app).

I will try the granat. Gotta buy some first! Thanks for the advice Scott.

Sorry Mark, didn't mean to leave you out. Thanks for your advice too!  Tony
