Here go guys a Kapex problem....

never too late for wax. I like silicone too. doesn't pick up any crap.

Not anything to do with the jammed fence, but I understand silicone is a real no-no around wood.  I've read silicone products cause real problems when applying finish to wood work projects.  Sounds like wax would be the way to go.  Just my $ .02

It's only a problem with water based finishes and no one ever uses them

Ok guys..

Got the kapex back this morning.

New rear fence and new lasers etc.

Here's the best bit, when I returned it i had a struggle packaging it and thought it would come back in a original box.

This morning it arrived in the a systainer type shipping crate specifically designed as far as I can see for the Kapex.

'' It is a plastic shipping container, but it is definately for the Kapex as it has hold down straps inside and everything''

What an excellent service.

Ill try and take a piccy later.

Oh and if you stand the crate on its end it makes a great quick stand for the saw. Might have to tinker around with it to make it better.

Yes, all dealers (at least here in the UK) have access to special systainers for returning items for repair - they're grey with red lids, with foam and tie-down strips fitted inside.

There is also a larger version for the kapex - but the idea is that they're re-used, you're not supposed to keep it...

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to purchase one to protect a kapex while transporting from job to job?  or would the size and mechanics of getting it in and out be an issue?
