I just stopped by to say hello.
For those who don't know me, which by now is most of you, I am an OG member who hasn't had anything of import to say in 10 years. So why did I quit? I didn't really. Quoting Rick James, "The internet is a heck of a drug", and I had work to do. What I also did this year is retire. Not in the sense you might imagine because technically I haven't held a job since 1982. That's funny folks, as I haven't stopped working a single day since. Anyway, what I'm done with is the "Can you do better?" and " But Harry said it should be, $XXXX. Gimme Harry's number, I've got work for him. When asked, I now respond with, sorry I don't do that anymore...never mind that stack of lumber, and the sawmill is for decoration. I'm just a putterer.

PER welcome back, glad to see you alive and well.  [big grin]

Your past contributions were always much appreciated.

Ron

ha! at first when I saw a new post from you, I assumed someone hacked your account; sneaky bots! But the unique writing style clears up any confusion...

Eager for your Per-ls of wisdom.

Peter

Per, thanks for checking in. Every now and then I think of you and others that used to post. I miss your projects and wit.
Hope all’s well,
Enjoy your retirement
Rick.

I thought of you and Bob just a few days ago. I have the image of him on skis just kind of stuck in my brain for some reason. Nice to know you are well.  [thumbs up]

Hi Greg,

Sadly Bob boarded the ship to Valhalla in early 2015. They broke that mold upon completion. Miss him every day.

I'm a bit late, but I did want to say it's good to see you're still making your way in the world with your usual style. I do hope you, and your kids are doing well.

Brice, how the heck are ya? Still in Yinzer land? Kids are great and the grandkids are just about ready for indentured servitude. I'm not taking new work except for friends and family. The thing is, my friends are carpenters, and I taught the kids how to do this chit young so they can embarrass their husbands. That translates to, I don't do much. I'm glad to see you're still here, and all the best.

I remember your post: “We lost Bob.”  You and I had talked about him before he passed. 10th Mountain Division, commercial photographer, pianist, and so much more. A Renaissance Man. And a great sense of humor that was passed on to you.

Hey Pers,

just saw this,
Man good to see you posting.

You prolly dont know me, I started posting here about the time you stopped.

I must say though the stuff you posted was awesome.

Sorry, I'm a little late getting back to you, but I'm good. I've stopped doing contracting a few years back. Now I'm a full time landlord. I've been thinking about getting back into contracting as I'm as invested in real estate as I'm going to be. I've got things setup reasonably well with my rentals so I've got time to work again. I'll admit I'm struggling to pull the trigger to commit to going back. There are times I miss building things. I just don't miss all the extra baggage that goes along with the job. I'd much rather diver deeper into real estate, but I think that time has pasted. The days of cheap money are gone, and the big boys have more or less taken over the real estate market.

Glad to hear your family is doing well.

good to see you posting again Brice...

its been a while since i seen your name and have wondered about where you went.

Glad your doing well and like so many of the old timers have moved on to something else.

i retired, moved and bought property in Az. Had a 830sq ft shop built. I was going to go pro, do some jobs, but ya know everytime i get ready to pull the trigger, I think Nah screw it, dont need the aggravation. I got enough work on my own house and property to keep me busy.

Well good seeing your name here again
