Hey all, always trying to minimize redundant tools.... I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a chuck for the
Hilti TE-7C hammer drill that would let it accept regular wood bits? Ie, just a jacobs type chuck instead of the SDS one it comes with?

The chuck is easy to remove, so I gotta think such a thing exists but I can't find it anywhere in google land....

Thanks.

Yes Hilti makes a chuck that collet on the output. and they have SDS shank chuck. Check with a hilti rep or there web site.
Always been on my list to get.

I think Hilti makes a dedicated chuck, plus Hilti, Bosch, Milwaukee, and others make a 3-jaw jacobs chuck with a SDS-Plus/TE-C shank on the back so you can just chuck it into your rotary hammer.

Remember though, rotary hammers are geared for impact energy, and should not be considered to be a replacement for a heavy duty drill. Not saying you can't use it for medium duty use, but these tools aren't intended for heavy use just as a drill. I love my Hilti TE-1000, they really make great tools!
