Hello FOGgers-

Does anyone know if it is technically feasible to use the VN-HK unit from the HK85 saw with the HK132?

Looking at my 132, I don't see any obvious reason why the little saw's cutting head assembly (part #10013167 in the Festool book) would not mount to the big saw's flange.

I've never had one of the VH-HK sets in hand to measure it, though.  Has anyone tried it?

Best regards from the foggy shores of the Baltic Sea!

IDK if the block would mount on a 132 but, given the diameter of the block and the 132 being a much bigger beast, I'd certainly wonder whether the cutter block would extend anywhere near past the base of the larger saw? The chip collectors that mount on the 85 most certainly wouldn't fit on a 132... so you'd have to be prepared to get buried in all that too [tongue]

Roachmill, thank you for the reply.  Yes, I agree that the shrouding for the HK85 will not work on the 132.  I would use the chip collectors supplied with my RS-HK set.

Regarding depth of cut, the RS-HK cutting head has a nominal diameter of 160mm with a max cutting depth of 38mm.  So the VN-HK block, with a 15mm smaller nominal radius, should still be able to groove to a depth >20mm on the larger saw.

That is, if the VN-HK cutting head actually fits the HK132 flange...  ;)
