Hello can anyone give a rough idea how long 3 fully charged 5ah battery's last in the hkc 55. Started a roof with no power except a small generator so was wondering if the batters would last all day cutting 45mm rafters and 25mm sarking (very wet) charging them at night when I get home or if I'm better off with the corded version which would mean the generator would power that and that alone

Thank you

If you are using 5.2 Ah batteries and have 2 of them you must give the saw a hard task to get without power.
Although the 5.2 batteries take a relative long time to charge, app. 90 min.
It also depends on the thickness of the material and if you're cutting soft/hardwood.
Ideally you need 3 batteries, maybe from other Festool machines.
BTW. The HKC also takes 14.4V batteries.

Id be surprised if you got through the day with the hkc55 for roof work, I use a hilti 36v for roofing & 1st fix and that will last 80-100% of the day on 1 battery but it had to go in for repair a few weeks back and I tried to cut a small roof with my hkc55, the timber was wet and treated and the saw was struggling to cut so much that I resorted to my handsaw and I never use a handsaw if i can help it

"All day" really needs to be converted to a tangible measure .. are we talking 100 45x?? mm treated pine cuts?

(I'd love to know some of the benchmarks for this saw too)

I used it all day with FSK on 2x4 lumber for framing an attic  . 2 batteries lasted me all day
With out FSK I can not see 2 batteries lasting all day
Love the saw ,wish for a 110 v

I think the official hilti figure is 400 cuts of 100x45, I have not counted but I would easily do a few hundred cuts in a day on 1 battery

I got 72 cuts at 90 degrees in 47x197mm (8x2") slightly damp softwood using one fully charged 5.2ah battery

first time poster just saw video of HKC with a track wondering when to expect in the states? looks to be a handy saw

No ETA yet.  Generally speaking we get the tools in the States a year, or two, after the European release.

Is the hkc corded in 110 volt available in the uk ?
I am extremely happy with my cordless with the FSK , but could use a
Corded when a little more power is needed

That's a very tidy cordless capability from one battery, effectively 40m of 45mm cutting on one charge.

Yes they are very near to a corded saw for power as long as the blade is sharp
