Here's a nice video about the new HKC 55 circular saw.
Unfortunately for most of you it's done in German language.
But I think the video is still worth watching and speaks for themselves!

HKC 55 saw

Saw that video - the saw looks pretty good and it has some improvements over the Mafell KSS400. Would be interesting to see differences in power and ergonomics and also how long the battery lasts. But, this one looks like a nice saw. Hope it makes it to North America.

This inspires the greatest tool lust in me since the Domino. I want one. I want one now.

I have some frequent flyer miles on British Air. Hmmm.

With the greater presence of Festool in the US vs Mafell, this saw could lure a lot of people in the the green camp.

Will the TS-55 work on the HKC rail? (It may be answered in the video but my German is non-exsistant).

I'd like to get just the rail if it works with the 55 and 75.

If not, I'll be getting another Festool saw.

Order a Mafell KSS400 - that has a cord, but does not work with Festool rails. I have the KSS80 and it is an awesome machine.

I doubt that works - the shoe has an extra slot for the bungee return. These saws work amazingly well. I have the large KSS80 that spins 237mm blade and it is awesome in every regard. But a smaller one like this would be very useful.

I'm presently waiting for mine, I think I'd handle it a little more carefully though than shown in the video..

Seems the cuts are extremely clean and straight. And for me it will be my main cross cut saw for most work..

Therfore I've ordered the 32 tooth blade and the 250mm tracks in addition to the 420mm I get included with the plus version..

I'll take my time finding out how to use the saw, watch a few videos with the "M" version and it's sure to be a very useful tool for my planned use, framing, on site shelving, garden house/fencing..

It works on the 55 rail but not the other way around, only made a few cuts with mine so far and seems like a worthwhile addition.

I am planning on using it on pergola/deck beams to cut to length and miters for perimeter beams.

As a cut off saw for general framing i think i will stick with the makita 18v brushless and speed square i use now.

The chargers are way too slow and the saw with rail is a little heavy but i am sure i will find more ways to use it.

I intend to leave a general carpentry blade in the HKC for cutting down doors on a standard 1080 rail and leave a blade for cabinet work on the cordless track saw, probably an indulgence but having a go to saw ready without blade changes will be quicker and as they say time is money.

Thanks for posting the videos...

And also thanks [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member]...they're very informative.

Guys, what is the difference between the TS55 and HK55? Any reason to have HK55 when you already have TS55?

For me it's using it with the fixed trimming guide rails FSK.
Especially meant for cross cutting.

The HKC version is working with only one 18V battery.
The HK saws can also make angled cuts of 50 degrees.
