HKC Blade Guard Play

Is it normal for the pivot for the blade guard on the HKC to have a little bit of play in it?  When I engage the lever to raise the blade guard it seems to rotate off center slightly and the guard brushes the inside of the upper shroud sometimes.

My little Mafell version does the same wiggle.  I'm fairly certain the HK should have some weeble wobble, but I don't have one in front of me atm.

I called Festool today and the rep seemed to indicate there is in fact some play in the guard but it took him a minute to figure out what I was describing so I'm not that confident in his assessment.
