HL 850 EB with SE-HL + WA-HL Kit

Hi All,
  as i've not many room to work, i'm planning to buy the SE-HL & WA-HL kit as a surface-planning machine (with its limits).
My question is : "Does any one ever use this "kit" and what is your feed back ?"

For face flattening, I use the HL 850 if there is a lot of planing to do.
I use a couple of winding sticks to sight with.

When i get close to flat, i may finish with a hand plane or even the Rotex 150
Once i get one side flat, i run it thru my planer to get both sides flat and parallel.

The edges i do for the most part with my ATF 55 and maybe once in awhile a touch of sanding

I have never used edge guide with my HL 850.
i have not purchased the stationary fixture to use as a small jointer
Once I got the hang of using it, I never felt the need.

For rabetting, I use my routers.  Festool with guide plate or my WoodRat.  i feel I have a little better control
Oh, I have an old Stanley routing plane that I got from my dad years ago.  I just pulled it out of a corner where it has been hiding.
This winter, i want to try that for Rabbeting and dado's.

Hi Pierre,
  I have both of those attachments and like them very much. The bench stand is nice if you have to smooth a bunch of small parts quickly. It is hard to use it for anything over a foot and a half long (46cm) because the in-feed table is so short.

  The angle unit is very useful on the stand but is also nice for planing the edges of doors. You can set it for the exact bevel you want and get very good results. I have two other power planes (Bosch & Makita) as well as the Festool and the fence on the Festool is the only one that reliably holds the angle setting.

I have all of the above and I also have a 6" grizzly unit. The grizzly collects dust and the 850 does most of the work. I build smaller projects so it is ideal for what I do.

I have the smaller 65 mm planer with the bench stand - it is excellent to use as a small jointer for example if you make small boxes / drawers etc to flatten or thickness 15cm long thin pieces of timber that you could never put in a thicknesser - so mine never gets dismantled
