Holmes and Holmes

I would presume that in a commercial TV program like this the featured tool supplier is whomever offers thye most generous terms (all show tools free, here's some extra tools for you to use at home Mike, a one minute segment highlighting a tool gets the show paid at TV commercial advertising rates, etc.).  When that is not the case you usually see the tools with logos taped over so as not to discourage other tool suppliers from advertising.

This ^^^^^^^^

Please forgive my cynicism, but any YT video featuring any power tool brand is 100% financially biased in favour of the brand being shown and highlighted. It's called marketing. And the odd occasional one I do watch? It works along exactly the same lines as the hundreds of Instagram and YT 'influencers' who feature their products in videos which extol the virtues of a particular product or service in exchange for $$$$$$$. YT specifically changed their disclosure rules awhile ago, but hundreds of these videos date from pre-disclosure times.

And that's exactly why I never watch them. And the occasional one I do watch? It's always tainted with the subliminal 'he's being paid to say that' skepticism. In other words - 100% worthless as an educational tool.

Came across this story where Holmes is getting sued for his part in promoting defectively built new homes.
Tarion is the organization in Ontario that provides new home warranties.    Sounds like they are suing everybody involved and let the courts determine blame.
I don't think Holmes was directly involved, sound more like he sold his name and image and did a few commercials for them, without doing his due diligence or follow up on how they were built.

$8M lawsuit alleges defects in Mike 'Holmes approved homes'
