Holy cow at the increase in forum traffic!

Peter's gonna need a bigger iMac if he keeps docking every application ever made :)

(oh, and I read .sig lines!)

Cool stats; I'll give them a look for fun from time to time.

Another thing on stats - you can also click on 'Profile' in the header, and then on the left click 'Personal Stats'.

I just noticed this myself. And discovered I've spent over 31 days of my life reading this forum.... [eek]

Good on us!  I'm even checking in on activity while in northern Peru on business ( much better than the local television stations).  [big grin]

This is deceiving because it shows signed in time. Heck, I read about 3 times more than I am actually logged in. I think if you are like me you may have been on here a lot longer than even the 31 days.  :)

Actually, that's incorrect Nick. The session timeout is 30 minutes as I recall (without checking it). That means that your session ends after thirty minutes even if you're logged in.

I would think just the opposite, I tend to just leave a tab with the FOG open so I'd guess my numbers aren't the actual time I've been reading.

Well my point is that I am on the FOG way more than the numbers in stats show and I am sure many more are.

So if you only get 30 minutes do you have to log out and back in to get the count back on.

I ask this because it seems about every 30 minutes or so something kicks me out and I have to sign back in. It has been this way for years. I never sign out, but I must sign back in to post sometimes, but I am already logged in.

Maybe this 30 minutes has something to do with that?

The forums  I have run you could stay logged in forever and just rack up 24 hours a day in the stats.

i dont know how it works it out but i have spent 11 day+ in the fog  since august last. i have the fog as a tab and it is always open

The FOG is always open in a browser tab on work computer and at least one of my home PCs. So, I would have years of time online if it measured it on that. A "session" is a term that describes a unique period of interaction between your browser and a web server. Since the connection is not constant, it starts when you begin to load a page and ends when the page finishes loading, there's now way for a web server to really know if you've move on to another website. If the FOG server doesn't see you load a page within "x" minutes, it assumes you've left. That's trying to put it in lay terms. Up until recently, this was about 40 minutes. I recently increased it to about 100 minutes.

Shane,

Are the FOG's servers located in California cause they're sure acting like they're on medical marajuana?  [laughing]
