Hey folks, I've been reading the forum for awhile now, picked up many good tips and enjoyed the tool reviews.

Here's a project I just completed, inspired by johnny round boy's work center.

Small but fun project.  Took a bit of time figuring what I wanted to put on the work center.

Attaches to vac just like a systainer, no play and very stable.

Looks nice. Are you going to take it to jobs?  Or just use it in your shop?  How many hours did it take to make it?  Probably about 2 days I figure?

Thanks folks.

It will just be used in the shop, concrete floor (basement) so it rolls around nicely.

It does come off the vacuum though - like taking off a systainer but more complicated (all that crap on board).

It did take about 2 days to build, I went slow as I was designing as I built.

Made from spare maple I had and a few other spare bits so cost was nil.  Milled the maple to size as I needed it so that added a bunch of time.

Does the base lock into the top of the vac via the tabs/hooks?

Yes locks firmly to base.

Just copied the bottom of a systainer.

Not top-heavy at all.  Very solid and difficult to tip - I tried.

The 2 bottom trays are fairly heavy though.  Solid Maple and 3/4 ply.

Thanks so much for the ideas. I did a version of this tonight and it took about three hours using Baltic Birch and your examples. Thanks for sharing - this will really help my kitchen installs stay more organized.

Not top-heavy at all.  Very solid and difficult to tip - I tried.

Don't let PaulMarcel get near it.  Those things like to wrestle with him - and usually win...
