Home Theatre Cabinet Hardware question

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find the hardware below. Its like a recessed nut and a short bolt with rubber o-rings inside. The picture is inside a BDI home theatre cabinet. I want to use these in a another HT cabinet for strength and debatable vibration dampening of the o-rings.

If any knows that these are called specifically and where I can find them it would be greatly appreciated.

Questions:  Is this a shelf standard (pin) that screws in?  or is it integral/used for cabinet construction?

@Jon: Shelf pin

@Peter: Thanks! Now I just need to find somewhere that sells the washer and the threaded pins separately so I can save a few bucks. Just counted them in my cabinet so it would take cost 250.00 and I would have more pins than I needed. Any ideas on how carries large selections of these. I am going to start searching now

Actually, this is what I think you have in your photo, it would make sense.  You would need to add the o-rings though.  You can call them or visit their website.

The embedded nuts almost look like PEM nuts. I say that because it looks like they have serrations on the outside.

There are other types of shelf pins that have rubber bumpers on them, and I think they would be a heck of a lot cheaper.  Take a look through a Hafele catalogue if you've got one.  I would post a picture like Peter, but I'm a little inept at stuff like that.

@Tom: Thank you I think thats it.

@jonhilgen: Thanks for sharing H?fele... I have been searching for site like that.

Any other great  hardware sites you could share with me?

Kim,

Try

CSHardware.com

It's a little difficult to navigate the site sometimes, but they have quite a bit of stuff (like adjustable shelf pins no less!  Try finding those anywhere else).

Will try to think of more.
