Last day on this hitch in Nigeria, where I work six-weeks on and six-weeks off. Heading for the family in Germany tomorrow for my break (Wifey is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force), and just sent out one of our company drivers here in Port Harcourt, Nigeria to try and find me some zebrawood 24x4X1, or close to that boards to stick in my suitcase to take with me. Cheap here if you can find it.
Also hoping that some of the locals have some ebony in the same approximate sizes. I want both of these to use for inlay work on some projects I have planned. Can't take any larger than I can fit in my suitcases, and then hope that I don't get tagged with them in Paris on arrival.

I once carried a phenomenal stump of indigenous Mangrove wood that weighed 70 pounds in a suitcase from Palau (small island 500 miles south of Guam). This particular wood of the type is endemic to Palau and is absolutely gorgeous. I'd seen some tables made of the wood and they were incredible. I still have the stump waiting to resaw for some box building. Wish I could import a TON of that lumber!

Been a long 7 weeks here in Nigeria flying oil workers offshore. Raining cats and dogs this rainy season (three inches so far today alone), so have the opportunity today to kick back in our lounge and surf the net. Catching up on all FOG posts I've missed. Good stuff.  Can't wait to get to the Festool Dealer's full shop 20km from our temporary rental home in Germany on Monday to make some "green" purchases!

Hope the driver comes back with the wood. Will post pics if successful.
