horizontal mortises on a cabinet post

Hello,
Just bought and received a domino 500 kit. I am building a stickley chest of drawers. The cross pieces providing drawer support  on the front are horizontal and have tenons on the ends intersecting the post. They go into horizontal mortises on the post. Clearly it is easy to make a mortise parallel with a narrow piece, but these are perpendicular. What is the best way to make a mortise in the post? I can imagine clamping the post between two posts, put the domino face down and go from there. Seems like there must be a better way.

Use a square to reference the base, clamp it in place. The offset from the center of the cutter to the bottom of the base is 10 mm. Capturing the piece between other pieces of the same height will increase the stability of the Domino.

Can you mortise the posts after they have been assembled into a frame (presumably the sides are a frame and panel construction), such that you are assured that when you lay a straight-edge perpendicular to the post to set the mortise height and provide a back stop to the domino base, you can clamp it all the way across?  Additional support for the domino base as it's being plunged vertically could then be provided by scrap pieces of the same thickness set on the outside of the frame.

You could also build a jig to ensure that the mortises were at the same height on both the left and right posts, something similar to what's given in reply #3 in this thread:http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-how-to/repeatable-mid-panel-domino-case-joinery/

Gentlemen,
Attaching what I am building and what I had in mind to position the domino for face mortising.
The solid wood side panels are glued directly to the posts. The chest is a very heavy piece.
