Hose adapter for smaller (1 1/4") shop-vac accessories

I recently bought my first Festool tools (CT36 and one of the sanders).  The impetus behind this was my old shop-vac dying.  It is a smaller shop vac that uses the 1 1/4" tools.  I like the CT36, and I'd like to grab one of the sets with the D36 hose and some attachments, but I really don't want to drop the money on it right now, so I'm trying to find an adapter that will go on the tool end of the D27 hose and then allow me to use the attachments I have.  My first guess is the stepped adapter that you see at a lot of places (link), but I don't know if the end of the D27 hose will actually go into this and hold.  Anyone know if it does?

Answered my own question.  Actually found a bit of free time to go to the store.  Short answer is no.  But, there is a 3 piece adapter set that Shop-vac makes that kinda works.  It is a really tight fit on the end of the hose.  I wouldn't want to use it all the time, but in a pinch it is fine.

There is also this Fein adapter you can try. I haven't used it myself, but people here on the site often mention they use it.
