My hose adapter sucks

So, coming late to the Festool party, I already have a pretty decent shop vac style dust collector. I had upgraded to a Centrec hose with a hose sock, and have been using their adapter set.
But, my recent project had a bunch of sanding, using all 3 of my Festool sanders, and the adapter to fit the sanders just isn't working well. What should I do?

The obvious answer, I guess, is to get a Festool hose. Which one for my "normal" shop vac port? They're kind of pricey....

Another answer is to get a different adapter set. Rockler has gone through a couple iterations now, maybe their latest is OK? The nice thing about the Centrec set is that it was straightforward to get adapters for everything else in my shop, from disk sander to CNC.

I have heard good things about the Rockler adapter fittings but never used them myself.
That is mostly because I have always used a Festool hose. When I first started with a DF500, all I had was a 5 gallon Shop-Vac and an I-vac switch. I bought the non-anti-static hose. (the old style silver one)
It fit the Shop-Vac brand machine perfectly.
Don't bother with one of the more expensive anti-static hoses. The ground loop is not completed by the vac itself.
Tool Curve sells some nice 3D-printed adaptors, for some specific tools, but those are usually oddly shaped ones.

For the price of a festool hose, you can just get the Bambu A1 mini (without AMS) and a roll of TPU and print all the fittings you ever want :P  There's no point in the AMS if you're doing functional parts.

Yeah, that's a really good point and I've good things about that machine, especially as a starter unit. Although there are rumors Bambu is coming out with a new top line machine above the X1 Carbon....
