Can someone tell me if Festool 487721 Antistatic Reducing Sleeve With Rotating Adapter for D 36 Suction Hose, will fit on a 36mm x 3.5mm hose? I bought this hose to fit on a boom for an extra but it doesn't hook directly an ETS150 sander.

I found this adapter but it doesn't have the diameter. It sometimes isn't easy to know what you're getting with Festool accessories.

Thanks

Mark

The one that you want is 498528 it fits a 36mm hose and is tapered to fit both 27mm and 36mm tools.
However the large hose may be a PITA to use on a sander and will be restricted on 36mm tools so you are probably better off with just getting a short 27mm hose to fit onto the end of your 36mm hose.

Or you might want this one ..........

Brosson Sells D36 to D27 tool end hose adapter. It may not be listed on site. May need to contact or try Ebay listing

It fits into the tool end of the D36 to reduce it to fit the D27 tool ports.

Thank you all for responding,

Bohdan, That's a good idea I hadn't thought of that. I'll just get a 27mm hose. I do think the larger hose is going to be cumbersome. Please advise me on the ends I need so I can cut one in half then fix them both to have two.

Thanks again

[member=5854]Flatsawn[/member] Tool-Home sells a 27mm 2 foot long piece of anti-static hose with the 27mm connection on both ends. It doesn't get you the whole hose but, in the end, it is a lot less expensive than buying the 27mm hose, cutting it, and outfitting the ends with the correct connection.

For what it's worth, I have the boom arm with the 36mm hose. I ended up buying the after market 36mm to 27mm adapter (for $19 I think online from Brosson(?)). I keep the 36mm hose on the boom arm and use it with all of my Festool tools, including sanders. I suppose the 36mm hose is a little less flexible than the 27mm, but I don't find that it is a problem. Positioning of the vac/boom arm assembly resolves issues with the hose (mostly just getting in the way).

Thanks grbmds, I found the short hose at HomeTool.

It's sure nice to get quick answers from you experts.

[member=5854]Flatsawn[/member] I'd try it with just the adapter from Brosson(?) and the 36 mm hose first. That is what has worked for me and I haven't really had a problem with the 36mm hose with my sanders. Everybody is different though. (Problem is, of course, if that doesn't work then you would have to spend the additional money either the short "whip" or another hose/ends.)

The Bosch five meter hose is a 36mm non-antistatic hose with the 36 mm to 27mm rubber adapter.  The picture on Amazon is not what the hose really looks like.  The  hose and adapter fit Festool vacs and sanders perfectly.  Shop around and you might be able to find a better price.
