Hose connection on TS55 coming off

This is surely operator error and I try to be careful and mindful, but nevertheless, the elbow connector pops off as I am trying to connect or disconnect the vac hose. This happens maybe 10% of the time, just enough to be super-annoying. anyone else run into this? Any way to make it more secure or adjust whatever bad technique I have? I do try to carefully line up the notches, insert hose, and twist. Like I said, it _usually_ works just fine, so I am almost doing it right.

Which model TS 55?

There is probably something else at play or broken on the hose adapter.  On my TS 55, there is no way for that elbow to pop off of the tool unless the collar comes with it.

I will occasionally loosen the collar and fit the hose to the adapter and then lock it back on the tool, but I've never had mine come apart like that.

It is a TS55 REQ. I'll take a closer look to see if it is broken somehow, it does not seem to be. It strikes me as just a little bit poorly designed, the elbow comes out with any moderate torque but maybe it was never seated quite right to begin with so I am also not putting it back in quite right.

Not normal.  And it's not like there's a wrong way to assemble it- yours is just broken.

Check out the replacement ones from Black Raptor, or Toolcurve.  Some of us don't like the swivel, so I've got the BR one with a fixed angle on it, and it's awesome.

I added the Toolcurve one to my TSC and love it. My CT is to the right and below the typical cutting area and it installed so the port is fixed with an up & to-the-right orientation works perfectly. It doesn't swivel and I don't miss it.

Never interferes with guide rail or work surface anymore.

Something is definitely wrong there. It should not slip over the ring, but in the same vein as the others have said, I would never "repair" it to the factory spec. The ToolCurve non-swiveling adaptor is the way I went, but there are others.

Thanks everyone. I didn't see one from Toolcurve but ordered the Black Adder version. I do have a tool curve dust collector for my little dewalt palm router, and it is great!
