The fitting at the end of the green hose that fits on to the tools (as opposed to the end that fits on to the vacuum) broke off.  Is there a fix for this or am I destined to buy a new hose?  Also is that hose readily available at a retailer who sells Festool products?

First, welcome to the FOG!  Did the hose end break or separate?  There are 3 pieces in the hose end.

Peter

Thank you for the reply, Peter.  The hose broken off.  There is some sort of plastic coupling inside the rubber nozzle, but the hose itself is severed from the nozzle with that coupling inside.

You might want to check out the thread that Garry referenced.  It sounds like a separation.  Pretty hard to break one.

I don't find it hard to break them, they're pretty weak, especially the green anti-static ones. But if it happens near the nozzle you just shorten the hose and reattach the nozzle.

As Alex says, with time the hose will get shorter. The original hose is still attached to my 11 year old CT22. It's around 200mm shorter now. Periodically, I also have the nozzle detach itself. It's easy to re-attach using the information in the link provided by [member=11629]GarryMartin[/member]  . In time you may also need to repair a hole - here is another link on that matter.

In this thread, you will note that Alex and I 'explore'  [smile] two repair methods. The method I used has continued to work but I am sure that Alex's method is just as effective.

Whereas the poster replied in another thread that his hose end separated and that rectified the situation, I am moving this away from the problems area.

Ah, plugging holes, yeah good times, good times we had. :)

If it works for you, it works for you. My hose is also still plugged with a drip of hot glue. I don't like tape fixes, they're ugly and they scream to the world your hose is broken. No one knows anything with mine, to be honest I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it now again.

[size=12pt]I am also wondering if a silicon adhesive such as those made by Sika might work?

Got a new hose on last Friday and it came unscrewed at the vacuum end today!  Is this a record or what??
