How do you store parts/fasteners?

This is how I label my Auers: A number and a bit of text that makes sense to me. All in vinyl.
Also: everything in the boxes is inventoried in a spreadsheet that 'lives' on an iPad in the shop.

Note that some are not numbered yet. It is an evolving situation (in flux…).

Love this idea! Especially the inventory. I can never remember what I have or don't have, let alone where it is stored... especially when it comes to misc stuff. Using an app like Evernote (or a Google doc) would let you access it from any device

If you close the lid of the augers, do they close well or is the content all over the bins when you’d shuffle box a tad to wild?

It’s what I hate about many of these systems.. either expensive or the individual bins aren’t closed properly.

Another thing I did was to use different colour boxes for different materials, eg in the "Pozidriv screws" Auer box most are galvanized steel in yellow boxes, but the stainless steel ones are in blue boxes. And of course everything arranged according to screw size and lengths.  [smile]

They close well, though it takes somewhat of a coordinated action - you need to press both corners together with some force. Also, the grid lines on the transparent cover help fixing the boxes in place. With the ridges in the bottom this makes for hardly any rattle.

As you may be able to tell, I really like the Auer boxes. I also own some of their toolboxes and these lock together, somewhat like systainers, but more simple. Pressing down the handle locks, pulling it up unlocks. With a lot of accessories like trolleys (and the range is expanding all the time) — the Auer range is a more complete system of storage options than systainers (boxes configurable with drawers are also available).

I’m very happy so far, really no complaints to be honest. If I lived in the EU I would highly recommend trying them out.

Getting them to the US is a pain. I use my brother to forward them on from the UK but shipping adds 40% to the cost! But Auer will then refund the tax. They still end up being a good price when compared to the alternatives.

Was Auer unable to arrange shipping?  I looked at the site and it seemed like they did provide it, but your feedback suggests they do not.

I was surprised that after requesting a quote, I received a book worth of marketing material from them.  I would think given that level of follow up, they would be positioned to arrange shipping?

They do look like a great option.

Tekbench, I too use the Milwaukee parts bins.  I just wish they had an adaptor that would allow connection to the new packouts which I have been buying as I like them better despite the price tariff but I only buy them on sale usually from Acme Tool.

Kaizen makes a kit with bits that attach to the classic organizer so it will mount onto a packout set. unfortunately it'll only allow mounting on classic on the top of the packout stack and you'd have to mount your other organizers to the first adapted one to bring more along with you.

If you search google or instagram you'll also find various people out there that have 3d printed these same bits. Free plans are available online, you just need to find access to a 3d printer. My town's public library has one for use and it's cheap, you might be lucky enough to find the same scenario.
