How do you store you Incra fences and rules?c

So this is a bit of a two part question ...

Imagine you have a 25" positioner with a MFT mounting precision plate, connected to the Wonder Fence. This is a big heavy piece of kit. Do you hang it "T" style on brackets against the wall?

Second part, I hadn't realised just how thin and flexible the rules, protractors etc were until I had them in my hands. The seem a little delicate in that a clumsy moment could see this stuff ruined. How do people store and care for these?

I've got the 32" incra fence that goes on and off my Mafell Erika. Also have the wonderfence and all that. I take the wonderfence into its pieces and store those seperate. I then slide the rails off the mounts and place the whole thing on the ground up against a wall. I put the fence side up and the lock side down but I always have 2 rails o. Either side of the "positioner" to make it sturdy.

If i were you I wouldn't hang it T style. It's only aluminum and Gravity is a biotch. If put the T side up stile but let it rest on the ground and then steal it tight against the wall. Hope that helps.

My LS-17 lives on my router table, my rules reside on supermagnets on the side of the craftsmans tool chest that resides under my table saw extension.  The rest of my rules and such reside in the shallow upper drawer of said tool chest.

Sorry, can't help on the Incra LS storage. One stays on the router table while the other resides with the table saw.

As for storage of the rules, this is what I do.

I inset 1/4" rare earth magnets on the sides to hold the rules. They're thin enough that they disengage easily while still holding securely.

I like the "toaster rack" style keep .. will probably need to resort to some drawers soon.

Kev,

Here is how I store my plate/LS setup. Easy to get on and off and I have it tilt out to put a knob inter to hold it to the wall.

Glad to see some red and gold in your shop!

Cheers. Bryan.

[member=21412]bkharman[/member] I like that ... all I need to do now is find a spot on the wall.

Thanks [wink]

You're right on the rules. The corner on my short one got a little bent, probably when I was bringing back and forth for site work. I just hang mine from the pegboard bench cabinet I have right now. I would avoid sticking it in a drawer where anything might sit on top of it.

My brother built a drawer insert for my dads layout tools. Turned out nice.

That is nice. You'd certainly know if you "left something in the patient" [wink]
