How I spent my Tax Refund

OK so I have admired Festool for a long time but just never pulled the trigger. I am a DIYer and armature woodworker. Every year the Tax refund usually went to some renovation on the house. this year I told my wife I am getting older and would like to rebuild my workshop. When I explained the number one benefit (Dust reduction) she was all for it. What I did not tell her how much everything cost. That will remain my little secret. I found a great site that is actually only 65 miles from my house. Since I live in NJ and the store is in NY there is no sales tax and free shipping so I bought everything online and had it delivered. Here is a list of what I bought.

Mini CT
ETS 125 EQ
Carvex PS 420 EBQ
Numerous Systainers and Sortainers - too many to list.

Here are some shots of my new workshop.

I went with the Mini because it is just for dust collect and I bought the attachment kit that is mounted on top. Also on the Mini are all my screws and nails I used for assembly of my projects. The cart is used for all my home repair, upgrade tools. It also comes in handy when I have to go to my elderly in-laws to fix things. The other cart has all my woodworking tools on it. I plan on getting a Festool workbench and Circular saw sometime in the future.

Hi Spartawood.  [welcome] to the FOG. It looks like you're off to a good start. Here's a thread with a couple of links to spruce up your photo posting skills.

Spartawood,
Welcome to the FOG!  You will find a lot of nice people here who offer some great information and guidance as you slide down the slippery slope of Festool!

I do have to say that your post has raised a real sore point with me since I found that instead of a refund, I ended up owing a healthy sum! [scared]

Anyway, enjoy those new tools.

Mike A.

Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Nice little setup. And hay the money is going to renovation work really. The tools will help get the jobs done.  [thumbs up]

I just got a C18, should be delivered tues day
Snicker, snicker tee hee tee hee

Yes it is available in the uk. You have to fo a self assessment tax return. So people who are cis or self employed will do 1. Where if you are paye it doesn't exist

I listened to Jeremy Vine on radio 2 a few weeks ago and a Yorkshireman (I only mention that so you can get the accent in your head) said the only one that pays their way are those on PAYE the rest are robbers and crooks. I'm self employed and waiting on £2000 refund. It's going on clearing the finance on the car and not festool goodies but it's the veracious purchasing of the green that helps to grow the refund  ;D

Welcome and Congratulations!

Haha some of us may not get refunds depending on how much we make or how we make our money. I'm in that perfect class, I don't make enough to owe money but I make enough to afford Festool and get a nice chunk of a refund every year.

And I spent mine on my cross country move.

And a T18 and TS 55 REQ.
