There are some questions we get all the time like how do I connect hoses?  How long a run of hose can I throw on each dust extractor, etc...

Festool has this little bit of a hidden gem, at least to me it is, ready for ya.  Super informative.  Gives you a rundown of max length per type of hose, how to connect various hoses, how long a run you can use when using a splitter and more.  Great bit of info.  Just click the pdf link.

MY THOUGHTS exactly.  I couldn't believe it.  Very cool testing.

wow
98 feet . thats amazing.

one question. why do they state that the ro150 requires the  most suction . surly the kapex,of2200,domino xl would need more suction to keep the chips moving. if its a tool that practically blocks the end of the hose then the planex would  be on top. what am i missing

With respect to whoever compiled the Festool data, my experience has been that the way I use the RO150, it does not come close to working best with the maximum suction from any of the CT extractors. Of course the RO150 like all the ordinary Festool sanders will not accept a hose larger than 27mm without some sort of adapter.

Many Festools, such as the TSxx saws, the Kapex and the Domino are not adversely affected by extra suction so long as their minimum is met.

This is absolutely not the case with Festool sanders. The fine tuning of the suction control is vital to obtaining the best performance. So, why would you want to use an extra long hose? My own experience is I want the CT so close to me while I sand that I can reach over and re-adjust the suction control.

Of course I do my sanding in a large shop on clean wood. The hardwood might be reclaimed, but before it is presented for sanding all of that wood has gone through milling in my shop, so I sand to enhance the beauty of the grain, not to remove defects.

Consequently the mileage of each Festool user might well vary.

The question being asked is: "How long of a hose can I use with the Festool CT dust extractors to get sufficient suction with any of the Festool sanders?"

I only have 62.5' of hose  [wink]
