More of a how can I justify this to SWMBO question...

I'm toying with getting another dust extractor primarly for my Kapex.

It something many or any of you do?

Who is the "winner" with the most dust extractors in you shop?

1 CT 22 for general job site work
1 CT 22 for Kapex
1 Fein turbo II for rough or wet work
1 Sys vac for service work
Used to also have a CT 26 but sold that

2-22
1-33
4-Midi’s
3-Mini’s
1-Sys
1-15
3-33’s
1-33 AC

Just hired 2 more people, will need 4 more CT’s, 4-CXS’s, various sanders and a Kapex.

I had 6 CT’s before I had any employees.

Just 2 for myself, a Mini and a Midi.

Thinking heavily about changing the old 2006 Mini for a 26.

I have my craftsman shop vac I use for wet and for everything wood my CT26 and shop sawdust wood chip collection set up. I see things like the CT as dust extractors the rest have different roles. So, is that one or more?

CTM26 110-volt (site work)
CTL26 230-volt + CT-VA-20 (shop work)
CT-SYS (small trimming jobs involving only a few cuts)

I have a 26 and a Midi.  The 26 with the is best for general cleanup but harder to move up and down the stairs.  The midi is a good supplement for breaking down sheet goods in the garage, etc. when the 26 is in the basement with other tools or doing something on site.

I also have a Dewalt hybrid 20V battery / 120V corded vac which is quite convenient for small cleanup.

I have an OG MINI, for which I have about a dozen bags, and recently picked up a MIDI-2 from Recon and the bluetooth remote locally from Acme.  The MIDI will probably stay in the garage with the WorkCenter/Cyclone and the MINI will be the basement/indoors cleanup vac.

CT-22 under the bench for Festool power tool jobs, Altos Attix 33 under the sliding miter saw, Shopsmith DC-3300 between my drill press and one radial arm saw, old Delta barrel collector at the other radial arm saw and old Kity 1hp single stage that rolls around the shop to everything else.

I have a pair of second generation Midi’s for TS/Domino and sanding work and thinking of getting a CTL-Sys again for the sheer convenience when mobile.

There’s also an old Festo SR 151e AS in my workshop which I wouldn’t like to be without.  It runs a Dust Commander cyclone on a 120L HDPE barrel with D50 hoses connected to my table saw.  A real trooper of a vac and it’s not fussy about how it’s treated.

Festool should make a general purpose wet and dry builders vac again.  Spares for the 151 are now essentially unavailable due to age and if anything other than brushes, motor or bags (also now expensive as hell) need replacing, I’ll have to buy a Kärcher or similar.  I love the CT’s but they’re a different tool for a different purpose.

Midi, CT26 with WCR, CT36AC w/ CT-VA, vac sys, four Fein, Metabo ACR and 18V, Milwaukee 18v packout

I have a Mini dedicated to my Kapex connected through a short wide hose. Works great. I have a Mini dedicated to my SawStop overarm guard. I have a Mini under my work bench for general use. I have a Fein in the back of the shop for general use. I have two 2hp  cyclones for the big power tools. I have a itty bitty Festool vac in the garage for the cars and the Big Green Egg.

[member=4105]tjbnwi[/member]  It appears you are in Colorado.  I knew it was busy, but wow!  Did the lumber prices slow you down at all?  New construction or remodeling? Are people starting to build east, out onto the plains?

If renovating, are you bidding on this house?  [eek]https://www.redfin.com/CO/Colorado-..._source=web_share&utm_campaign=facebook_share

I’m currently in Colorado Springs, got here about 3.5 years ago.

We do casework and millwork for new construction homes.

The material issue affected the brand of hardware we use due to availability, we had to order in sheet goods early so we got them when we needed them, longer solid lumber lengths were hard to come by.

The homes you linked went for over the asking of 590,000.00. It is in the Broadmoor area, at 590 it is just a shack for the area…..

The area is moving east. The home my wife and I just purchased is on the east boarder of Colorado Springs. We paid 40K over asking for the home.

I should also mention 3/4 of the CT’s have the Festool Separator on them. We have to change the bags about every 10th dump of the separator bin.

CT26
Nilfisk Aero 21
Jet 600CFM collector
Jetkenstein 1200CFM collector(cobbled from Jet frame with motor and blower from somewhere else)

Only one, so far, at least. I've got a CT26 at the end of my assembly bench and a couple of 4" ports from the main dust collection system at the shop. One of them goes to the Dewalt Mitersaw and one for the jointer.
I have been thinking about getting a CT15 for a bit more portability. I have a pretty big workspace and I like keeping the CT26 in one place. A second extractor would be handy.
