How much dust can a CT36 bag hold

I just purchased a CT36  today  to help in refinishing a staircase. The staircase has a dark stain and 4 coats of polyurethane from 12 years ago  and will be down  to bare wood for a natural red oak.  The sales guy said that the white bag should do at least 10 staircases without needing changed. I'm just trying to see if I need to reorder anytime soon since my local place doesn't stock the bags.

Hi Trooper and welcome to the FOG. The CT-36 has a stated capacity of 9.5 Gal.
You can find a lot of useful information on  Festool USA site.

I believe in being prepared & always bought extra bags with a vac.
It does not happen often, but bags can rupture before they are full.

I worked for a shop that had a Rotex and CT33 dedicated to doing field seams for solid surface.  In the first three years that I worked there, I never saw anyone ever change the bag.  I don't even remember seeing spare bags in the shop.  This vac went to an average of three kitchens a week.

You can do a lot more staircases than just 10 on one CT36 bag. Sanding doesn't create a lot of dust - volume wise.

I never wait with buying new bags. If I put my last one in the vac, it's time to get a new set of 5. You never know when you gonna need a new bag again, could be 2 months or just 2 days.
