How often does Festool have reconditioned sales?

I've been readying myself to take the plunge.  I'll probably be getting a TS55 and MFT/3.  But I'm wondering, how often does Festool have reconditioned sales?  It looks like the last one was June 2013.  How likely is it I could get these at a better discount than buying the package deal now (before the price increase)?  Does the reconditioned sale also have package deals, or is everything based on the individual pricing?  Thanks!

somebody was a big baby about the mft last time, i don't think they're going to offer it again. just get the package.

Heya Rob,

In the next 2 weeks?  Next to impossible.  Recon Sales occur when Festool ends up with a stockpile of returned goods.  I can't speak for other dealers, but our return rate for Festool items are like... 60 to 1?  Maybe even less.  It's like... why would I return a Ferrari?  (please, no Ferrari catching fire jokes :P)

Short answer -- yup, grab the 10% TS55R + MFT/3 Package before prices go up April 1st.  In fact, I finished my price comparison spreadsheet, and the TS saws are one of the larger increases; so get in there and secure your order quick.

Cheers :)

Thanks for the info.  To clarify, I wasn't expecting a reconditioned sale before April 1.  I was basically wondering whether it's realistic for me to expect to snag a TS55 and MFT/3 for less than $1147.50 during the next reconditioned sale, whenever that is (hopefully sometime in the next 3-5 mos).

A couple examples: if I can pick up a TS55 for 30% off, then I'll definitely save some extra money regardless of whether the MFT/3 is available in the sale.  If the best TS55 deal is only 20% off and the MFT/3 isn't offered, then I'm looking at $1137, which is pretty much the same as the current package.  But if the TS55 is 20% off and the MFT/3 is available for 10%, 20%, or 30% off, then I'll be able to save enough for some important accessories.

Rob,

Buy the tools when ya need them or want them.

The discount for the recon tools really isnt that much.

No matter how ya slice it festools aient cheap (inexpensive)

I remember when festool gave you a pair of quick clamps to buy a saw. Those were the days..... [cool]

I remember when Festool had the 10% off saws and rails sale and then 10% off routers and then 10% off sanders...those were the days!  ;D

My time machine has a kink right now, it is moving the wrong direction! [crying]

If I get it fixed, I will bring some deals back. Or maybe they are already here? Creepy...

And what about the "buy 3 tools get 10% off, buy 5 tools, get 15% off?

As Phil mentioned, the recon tool sales occurs when Festool has enough of a stockpile  on hand to make the offering. As Tom mentioned, depending in which state you reside, sales tax will be charged. Package deals are never part of recon sales - all tools sold a la carte. Also, to consider, is a 1 year, vs 3 year warranty.
It's for you to decide, when the time comes, and weigh the variables.

Didn't Festool also sell the ETS 150/3 for a ridiculously low price when it was brought over here -- like $59 or something?  I seem to recall reading about that offer.

Yes, they did. I'm forgetting the exact details, maybe Shane or someone else can chime in, but I don't know whether Festool considers  that a good decision. Perhaps they do?
