How Work Smarter with CT 22 Dust Extractor?

I recently used the Rotex-150 sander and trusty CT 22 dust collector to restore a neglected wood fountain/deck. The tools performed brilliantly. Packing them up at the end of the day, even putting the hose back in the hose garage was especially satisfying.

A few days later, as I was lifting the CT 22 up and over some debris back at the shop, I tipped the device so that the hose opening was down and nearly all of the fine dust came pouring out. It's now everywhere in what was a once-clean area. I'm just glad that I didn't try changing the bag on-site at the client's.

While it's encouraging to know that I can also probably pour water out of a boot with the instructions written on the bottom, I'm wondering how to prevent this from happening again.

This is probably obvious, but not to me -- yet.

Thanks.

Hi Neal, welcome to the FOG. I assume you removed the hose from the vac and the dust came out of the hose port on the vac. Festool makes a blanking plug for the port to seal it off.

Bruce,

Aha!

That's exactly what happened.

I'll order one directly.

Thank you.

I just wish I'd managed to read that in the owner's manual.

Brice,

I'm terribly sorry about misspelling your name.

I have a lifelong friend named Bryce whose nickname is "Bruce" (long story). I just typed it automatically.

I really appreciate your help and I meant absolutely no disrespect.
